Lexi

Lexi seems to be looking so much bigger lately. We had a little scare with her last week though.  We went camping to Fruita the weekend before.  When we got home she got extremely constipated, to the point she was refusing to eat and fussy.  I had given her a laxative and still nothing. I started to panic. I went online to read and that just made me even more panicked. I thought she might have a bowel obstruction or something.  We called our friend Perri, who is a pediatrician, and got some advice. I decided that I would wait until morning to do anything.  That night Lexi woke up screaming and I went in to feed her and change her diaper. I noticed a large bulge in her groin area. I immediately thought bowel obstruction or hernia.  I called Dr. Pete the following day (I think that was Wednesday morning).  He said if it was a bowel obstruction she would be throwing up. He asked me to get her more unconstipated and then to see if she feels better. I was still worried about the bulge in her groin area. It seemed to get bigger and smaller.  By Friday I had Lexi pooping better by filling her with prunes, corn, bran muffins, smoothies with flax and figs, etc.  I was still concerned about the bulge though so I took her in. LUCKILY, it ended up being an enlarged LYMPH NODE. I had no idea we had Lymph nodes in that area.  I was so relieved.  Lexi seems to be doing better and some of her symptoms could have been related to her having a small virus, like soar throat, that is why her lymph node was swollen.  Phewwww!
