Luminaria

We had a fun night at Luminaria last night.  Grammy and I decided this would be something we could do safely with Covid.  We tried getting tickets for before Christmas but it was sold out.  We were able to get tickets for last night and it was great.  It was a cold night but they do such a good job with all the lights.  We chose not to go into any of the inside tents but we were able to comfortably walk around and see all the lights.  We stopped and got Cubby's and ate in the car before going to Thanksgiving Points luminaria (restaurants are open for dine in but we haven't done that yet, we are just trying to avoid the risk of exposure).  Then we went to Luminaria.

Dad bought a basket of mini donuts to share and it was so funny to watch him feeding our big kids.

We had a fun, cold time walking around. On the way home we went through Starbucks drive thru to get some hot chocolate to warm up.  Such a fun night!

Love to just play cards, hike, and hang out with this crew - not pictured, Cruz, who ran upstairs to play Minecraft with his cousins.

Christmas Morning 2020

We had a wonderful Christmas morning.  We feel very blessed to be able to provide gifts and fun for our kids.  As we teach them about the birth of the Savior, I hope they realize all our blessings come from our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.  And that things don't make us happy.  Our relationship with our Heavenly Father, our relationship with each other, and how we treat others, is what brings us true joy.  I am so grateful for the birth and life of the Savior.  I am grateful for His life and teachings. I am grateful that because He chose to die for us that we can repent daily and try to be like Him.

My good camera was in a weird setting that I didn't realize half way through Christmas morning, so all the pictures are blurry. These are the half way decent ones. Mom fail!!!!!  Lesson for next time, check the camera!!!Unfortunatley, no redo's but at least I have some blurry photos, that's better than nothing and in this year of 2020, lets count our wins!

Christmas Eve Day

On Christmas Eve morning the kids and I decided to finally decorate our gingerbread house.  This was a process this year because we decided to make it from scratch which was super cool and fun but it is a several day process. First we made the dough, then let it chill.  Then we rolled it out and baked the shapes.  Then we had to let those cool.  Then another day we made frosting and put the house together.  This part could have gone smoother but it still worked out. Then we had to let it set before we could decorate it, so on Christmas eve morning it was finally ready to decorate.  I think it turned out really cute!

We had fun getting ready for Christmas throughout the day, I did some cooking and the girls watched a Christmas movie, and Cruz went skiing.  That night we had grammy over for homemade mac n cheese (a request by the kids). At 8 p.m. we went over to Raddons in masks to do a game of white elephant.  We wanted to spend the night with them but with Covid, we just felt it wasn't safe. So we went over for a little game and kept masks on and social distances.  Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures!

Oh I did get this one picture. Georgia dressed up as the grinch. It was pretty incredible.
Alegra got these Elf pajamas (from Sesario) in the gift exchange. She was pretty excited about it.  Lexi also was able to trade to get a basketball, which she was also super excited about.  Cruz got a blanket that grammy had put in the draw.  We had to wait until 8 because Sesario was working at Little Caesars that night.  He went to take the trash out at work (wanting to get home to his family) when he saw a family going through the trash for food.  He ran back inside and he and his buddies made the family a few hot new pizzas.  He was late getting home but it made me cry hearing this story.  This is the true meaning of Christmas.  He is such a good boy!
