Alegra's CFC 2009 Girls team was in the Sandy Freedom Cup tournament this weekend. She played 1 game Thursday, 2 games Friday, and 2 games today. Besides a lot of soccer, it was 103 degrees out. It was so hot!
Alegra's team tide 0-0 the first game. They won 5-0 the Friday morning game. They lost 0-1 the Friday afternoon game. We qualified for the semi finals and had a game this morning and Alegra made 2 goals and we finished 4-0, it was a nail bitter. Then we played in the championship game this afternoon and they beat the team they had tied the first game. The score was 4-1 today. They were the champs in their division. I am so proud of their team!!!
Lexi's rec. team was in the Sandy Freedom Cup as well. They were registered as an older team (by mistake and we didn't figure it out till Friday night) but they played their hearts out. They had 1 game Thursday night and 2 games on Friday. All of the teams destroyed them but we had no subs and were playing on a bigger field. The tournament director realized the mistake once our coaches brought it to their attention so they put our team in the championship game today against girls our same age. Lexi's team ended up winning in a double overtime and penalty kicks. Lexi was the second one to kick and she made her shot!! It was so exciting after a pretty tough first 3 games.

These picture below of Alegra were in her final game. A girl tripped Alegra at the start of the second half and she went down pretty hard. Her elbow was hurting her a lot but I am so proud of her that she continued to play.
