Lexi has been working on measurement in math. Her assignment today was to draw different length lines and measure them. We sent this picture off to Miss Walker!!
The Air Force did a fly over of all the hospitals in Utah today. It was fun to have something to look forward too. We drove down closer to IHC and got some Culvers for lunch and ate in the back of the car and watched them flyover. We had our own personal flyover (just by chance) a couple of weeks ago at the top of Notch Peak. That fighter pilot was SOOOO close to us and did an upside down move, that todays event seemed a bit less dramatic. Still so cool to support our medical staff that way though!!!

what our day looks like...
This is the cute note below that Alegra wrote in her journal today. I was talking about even thought COVID 19 has disrupted our lives, we still have so much to be grateful for!!!!

quarantine hair!
Cruz's hair is getting so long-he wants to get a man bun!! Shawn is really good at cutting his own hair and Cruz's hair but I think Cruz likes the idea of having scraggly hair during quarantine. He says he's not cutting it till this is over. My own hair is getting long but its more the highlights that are becoming quite grown out, oh well!
Poor Alegra, she is really getting so anxious at night with sleeping. The problem is, we don't really want her in our room, even on the floor because she wakes up too early when we wake up. Luckily Lexi is o.k. with having her sleep in her room. The other morning at 5:00 a.m. Shawn could hear Lexi scream, "what the heck Alegra you are taking the whole bed!" Luckily they both went back to sleep. Sunday, April 26, 2020
Goings On this past week!
Some days during the work week Shawn and I will sneak away to get a workout in together. We have hiked, run, done a garage workout, and biked. That has been a fun positive of the "stay home stay safe", being able to spend the lunch hour together.
Alegra has made brownies and cupcakes ALL ON HER OWN!!
I have been working on sewing masks for to give to a group. Luckily these are the more simple kinds of masks to out together.
On Friday our teachers at Granite Elementary did a drive by parade for the kids. It was fun to have something to look forward too Friday afternoon. The girls made signs to hold!
A little frisbee waiting for the parade!
All ready!
Probably way too much screen time during this "stay home stay safe" but she is a cute little bundle!
Sleep has been rough lately. Between uncertainty with the coronavirus, a 5.7 earthquake, and literally thousands of aftershocks Alegra has become very anxious about going to bed in the evenings. And now Lexi is having issues too. This is how I found them the other night.
We had a nice day on Saturday and a few weeks back we ordered our own set of rackets for pickle ball. We went over to Raddon's new court to play. That was a lot of fun!

April 22, 2020- day number, I lost track, in quarentine
Alegra being so cute and doing Lexi's hair the other morning. In so many ways this "stay home, stay safe" has been good for our family. The girls have really played well together and have gotten so creative in playing games. We have spent so much more time together as a family playing games, eating meals together, playing, doing chores together, hikes, walks, reading scriptures, etc. I have loved the slower pace and the time we have spent together. It is weird though, different days I am filled with different emotions. Yesterday was hard. Online school seemed hard for the kids and me and I was missing for them being able to go to school and have those interactions with their teachers and students. I missed going to the gym and seeing my friends and getting my workout in, even though I am super lucky and have a bike and can go run, I was just feeling down about it. The future is so unknown and not having anything really to look forward too can seem a bit daunting. And then I start thinking about the economy and that gets overwhelming. I know I shouldn't complain at all because Shawn still has his job and a pay check coming in and there are so many people that don't. I need to chose to look for the good each day. Usually I am pretty good about that, but yesterday was just a downer day. I want my kids and me to look back at this time with fondness even though the world seems a bit crazy. So, keep focusing on the positive. The love our Heavenly Father has for us. Our family unit and our health and the love and health of our family around us.

Biking girls
Last Friday afternoon, Shawn was able to leave work (the office in our home) a few hours early because he had put a lot of time in doing work this week. He was cute and took the girls on a fun bike ride through the neighborhood. It was nice to give me a few minutes break and to get the girls out!
Sunday church and tea party
We were all pretty tired today. We slept in and kinda had a lazy morning. We held church in our living room a little later than we have been. Later this afternoon the girls and I had fun having a tea party. It has been a nice relaxing Sabbath!
With this whole "stay home stay safe" the girls have gotten really creative and cute playing made up games together. I love to see their relationship growing!

Family Saturday Outing: Notch Peak!!!!
Last week Shawn had the idea that we should go do a long day away from the house and go for a family hike to Notch Peak. The last time Shawn and I did this hike was almost exactly 13 years ago when I was 8 months pregnant with Cruz. We got up on Saturday morning and took off at about 8:30 a.m. Shawn had totally prepared everything. He packed the cooler with lunch and dinner stuff, got the camp grill in, chairs, and lots of different clothing options for everybody on the hike. We went south on I-15 till Nephi and then went west through Delta and then about a half an hour more till we turned onto a fairly bumpy road to get to Notch Peak Trailhead. It took us 3 hours to get there. We ate lunch at the car before we started the hike and left for the hike at about 12:30. Shawn said the hike was about 7 miles round trip, but it ended up being closer to 9 miles. It really wasn't too vertical until about the last mile to mile and a half. We got up to this tall peak, but then it dropped over 2000 ft. straight down (I couldn't look over the edge). Actually when we were approaching the saddle right before the last climb a fighter pilot came buzzing right by us, it was super crazy!!!! It took us close to 4 hours to get up and 2 hours to get down. I am so proud of the kids. They did really well. Shawn and I just tried to get them talking to keep their minds off of actually hiking. Alegra was running and skipping on parts of it, clearly she is in good shape! But in reality, they all did super AWESOME!! It was fun having Olive on the hike too. It is so fun to have a dog!
Ready to start the hike!
Lexi and I in our "matching outfits"!!!
Break time! We had to take several breaks because Alegra really had to go to the bathroom but she has a terrible time going in nature. She would get ready to go and then it would go away. So we would hike some more.
At the top. I was kinda freaked out and wouldn't let anyone go too close to the edge. It literally just totally dropped off. Cruz went on his belly to see if he could see down.
Love this family of mine!
Alegra was so cute helping Lexi off this big ledge!
Our 3 monkeys!
6 hours and 9 miles later we finished!!!!
